The process is really useful for working with difficult emotions or a particular problem you are struggling with. R.A.I.N. stands for the four steps in the process:
R - Recognise what is happening.
A - Allow it to be just as it is.
I - Invesitgate your inner experience with kindness.
N - Non-identification with the problem.
Tara Brach developed this process and lots of other meditation teachers now use it, or versions of it. It really is best to do it for the first time with a guided meditation. You will find them on Insight Timer - just look up Tara Brach.
