If sunshine had a smell
it would be sweet like bubble gum
it would be fresh like apples
it would be oaked like Chardonnay.
If sunshine had a taste
it would be fizzy as lemonade
it would be crisp as lettuce
it would be sharp as marinated olives.
If sunshine could speak
it would say ‘Lighten up!’
it would say ‘The day is not over.’
it would say, with a smile,
‘Let’s make hay’.
